C & G Narrowboats has endeavoured to provide a website accessible by all, utilising the latest W3C validated XHTML 1.1 and CSS. Our website also conforms to the WCAG 1.0 Priority 3 (AAA).
To ensure that this website is as accessible as possible, we have incorporated the following features:

What Are Access Keys?
Access Keys provide an alternative method of navigation to the mouse. All our links contain an access key; simply use the underlined letter in the link to activate the desired url. The method for using access keys varies from browser to browser. If, for example, you wish to navigate to our home page via your Firefox browser, you simply press alt, shift and H.
How To Use Access Keys
Users have to employ one of the methods listed below to be able to use access keys. The methods vary from browser to browser:
PC Browsers
- Firefox 2: Hold down the SHIFT key and the ALT key and then press the letter of the access key
- Firefox 1.5 for PCs: Hold down the ALT key and press the letter of the access key
- Opera 9: Hold SHIFT and the ESC key and the list of access keys will appear
- Internet Explorer 5+: Hold down the ALT key, press the letter of the access key, release both keys then press ENTER
- Internet Explorer 4: Hold down the ALT key and press the letter of the access key
- Netscape 7: Hold down the ALT key and press the letter of the access key
- Netscape 6+: Hold down the ALT key and select the letter/letter of the access key
- Netscape earlier versions: Access keys are not supported
Macintosh Browsers
- Firefox 2: Hold down the SHIFT key and the ALT key and then press the letter of the access key
- Firefox 1.5: Hold down the CTRL key and press the letter of the access key
- Safari: Hold down the CTRL key and press the letter of the access key
- Opera 9: Hold SHIFT and the ESC key and the list of access keys will appear
- Internet Explorer 5+: Hold down the CTRL key and press the letter of the access key
- Internet Explorer 4.5: Access keys are not supported
Tab Index
We have provided a tab index for those who wish to tab between links. Simply press the tab key until you arrive at your desired link, and then press enter.
Text Only Pages
We provide pages without images for those preferring this method of internet use. Simply use the link at the top of the page to switch between text-only pages and pages containing images.

Screen reader users may find it handy to skip to the main content; our skip navigation link is the first item read by your screen reader. Select this link to hear the main body of content.
High Contrast Pages
If you have difficulty reading text on a white background, please try our high contrast pages. The presentation is simple and features white text on a brown background.
Increase Text Size
